Hi {!Contact.FirstName},

In this ACN update, I’ll be covering:
  • Your new benefits from the Angel Capital Association
  • Our upcoming showcase event at BackForty (and our thoughts on Covid)
  • Upcoming virtual pitches
  • Welcome new members
The Angel Capital Association
This week, ACN joined the Angel Capital Association, the largest angel professional development organization in the world. As part of your ACN membership, this means you’ll now have access to a world of resources tailored to angel investors. These benefits include a $300 discount to ACA’s annual conference (April 24-26 in Chicago), free access to great educational webinars, a weekly newsletter, reports on public policy issues of importance to angels, tons of information in the ACA Knowledge Center, and connections to other great angels beyond ACN for ideas and sharing deals. To access these benefits, you can sign up here. ACA will keep your name confidential.
Upcoming Quarterly Showcase Event - September XX

We have spent (and continue to spend) a lot of time monitoring the Covid-19 situation, and have put a lot of thought and energy into how best to proceed with our quarterly pitch events (we’re now calling them “Showcase Events”). Based on our research and numerous interviews with members, we feel the best path forward is to schedule a zoom-enabled, in-person event in late September with well-ventilated and generously spaced seating. As we approach the event date, we will update you all if we feel it is best to cancel the in-person portion of the event.

For this next meeting, Back Forty Brewing has the perfect space for us – a large warehouse they call the “Barrel Room.” It offers free parking, a great food and beverage menu, and the ability to open large garage doors along both sides to create a quasi-outdoor environment that is still protected from the elements. As part of our precautionary efforts, we ask that members who have not been vaccinated join us instead by Zoom.

Please hold Sept XX from 4-6pm at Back Forty Brewing (next to Sloss) in your calendars and stay tuned for an official invite with RSVP details.

Upcoming Virtual Pitches
REMINDER: Some of the best companies we identify raise fast! Joining these Zoom calls is definitely a "less filtered" view than what you'll see at our main meetings each quarter, but it also gives you the earliest access to see companies as we identify them. If you see a company on one of these Zoom calls that you like, we encourage you to reach out right away – that's your reward for helping us vet! To register for any of these pitches, please send an e-mail to email@alabamacapitalnetwork.com The Zoom link for all upcoming pitches is: https://zoom.com

Welcome New Members!

Finally, we’d love to give a shout out to our newest Impact Partner, Lyons HR! Lyons HR offers a full suite of HR consulting services, including PEO, that we felt would be a perfect fit for the entrepreneurs we’re working with. As an entrepreneur growing a scaling company, I often wished I had a company like Lyons that could take the burden of payroll, HR, tax withholding, paperwork, etc. off my plate so I could focus on growth. Welcome aboard, Alan and team!

Also, we’d love to recognize our newest individual members: Milton Johnson, Bestor Ward, Brent Wouters, Cynthia Johnson, and Peter Inge! Bestor is a great milestone for us, as he is our first new member from the Mobile area (of many, we hope)!

Special Thanks to our Impact Partners!
